Before my treatment, I'd hear about people receiving radiation with basic understanding but never thinking about the emotional or physical implications. And the idea of someone's entire body getting radiated which is actually called irradiation - just simply wasn't a thought for me. My parents had to receive radiation for their cancers and that was extent of my thinking. Like so many cancer treatments, they leave emotional scars. In the following piece, I share how TBI left some scars, but also an encouraging reminder near the end.
